About This Seminar

Often a student spends hours studying for a test but is frustrated with the outcome because the questions are not worded in a way that helps him recall the information. Many math students breeze through basic computations but are stopped cold by story problems. In these cases and many others, the students have not mastered the higher-level thinking skills that are required for success—not just on tests—but in life. This seminar lays the biblical foundation for learning with comprehension, developing critical thinking, and provides practical instruction in helping your child develop and practice strategies that promote learning that lasts.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to

  • Recognize a biblical rationale for encouraging higher-level thinking skills
  • State examples for the various sublevels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and relate them to the goal of learning with comprehension
  • Use both their curriculum and home-teaching methods to promote higher levels of cognition

Who Should Attend

Any home educator who wants their children to achieve at their highest capacity by gaining mastery over higher order thinking skills
