Clear and effective writing is important for several reasons. The way we communicate in writing is a vital part of how we present ourselves and affects the way others perceive us. Our writing skills often influence our success or failure in education and careers. Most importantly, the written word is a means by which we can glorify God and share our faith in Christ. Eileen Berry

Eileen Berry holds a B.A. in Creative Writing and an M.A. in English from Bob Jones University. She has contributed stories, poems, nonfiction, and teacher instruction to a wide variety of elementary educational materials from BJU Press. She was one of the core authors of the current Elementary English materials and has presented workshops on the writing process and teaching composition and grammar. The author of five children’s books and a number of sacred choral lyrics, Eileen also teaches in the Creative Writing program at Bob Jones University, currently teaching a course called Writing for Children.
